  • Board Chair - Sr. Carmel King

    Founding Chair of Mercy Community Services North Queensland. She is a Sister of Mercy whose areas of expertise are in education, nursing and aged care. Her previous roles include Principal Nurse Educator at the Townsville Mater Hospital and Manager of Mercy Hostel for Aged Women in Cranbrook. She has had many years of experience on Boards and Management Committees including Family Emergency Accommodation Townsville and Edmond Rice Camps Townsville.

  • Board Director - Dr Sharon McCallum

    Dr Sharon McCallum MBA/MDR, FFACSW specialises in working with organisations to improve standards in relation to staff and organisational performance in situations of change and challenge. Her particular area of expertise includes board, team and individual performance review, accreditation standards coaching, grievance and complaints management. Sharon McCallum brings over 30 years’ experience in service delivery in a variety of urban, rural and remote settings, nationally and internationally.

  • Board Director - Sr. Beverley Hickson

    Sister Beverley Hickson is an inaugural member of the Board of Mercy Community Services North Queensland. She is a Sister of Mercy with extensive experience in residential and pastoral care, having been the Deputy Principal – Residential at St. Patrick’s College, pastoral worker at the Aboriginal and Islander Catholic Council centre in Townsville, and she presently leads the pastoral team at Loreto Home and McAuley House, an assisted care residence for Sisters of Mercy.

  • Board Director - Mrs Sandra Glaister

    Sandra is a dedicated health care senior manager and educator with extensive experience in challenging leadership roles, complimented by high level performance in a wide variety of settings including in the aged care industry and acute care. Sandra is a Registered Nurse and also holds a Master Degree in Business Administration and Master in Dispute Resolution, a Bachelor of Education (Nursing), a Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment, and a Certificate in Clinical Nurse Teaching.

  • Board Director - Mrs Delys Dunbar

    Appointed to the board in October 2014. Delys began her working career as a nurse before studying law. She qualified as a lawyer in 2008 and worked in private practice before joining Mater Health Services North Queensland in 2011 as its Quality Risk and Safety Manager.

  • Board Director - Mr Barry Tognola

    Barry, a Chartered Accountant, now retired has spent over 42 years of his professional life working throughout the North Queensland area. Barry’s field of experience extended largely to rural and commercial based family businesses. Barry has served over past years in an honorary capacity on the board of a number of charitable bodies.

  • Board Director - Mr Micheal Keir

    With over 20 years experience, Michael Keir practises law primarily in the areas of commercial, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, health industry, rural law and property development. Advising in these areas requires an appreciation of the commercial reality involved in each particular transaction, which Michael's business sense and extensive experience allows him.
